The documents listed below are stored in the PCE's website as a permanent archive. They are either written expressly for our website, submitted by the author, or they are public domain documents that have been placed here in the interests of maintaining a permanent record.

It is the intention of the website sponsors that these documents will remain in the same location and hold the same URL permanently. Please feel free to link directly to these documents.

Documents are found here in a variety of formats:

  1. The most common format will be HTML, the basic web encoding. Your browser is designed to read this format and display or print it. These documents have little or no security. Text and graphic layout is dependent upon your screen, fonts and printer. This means that pagination will be different from user to user. Citations to these documents should refer to paragraph or section numbers wherever possible.
  2. Download Adobe's Acrobat Reader for free
  3. You will also find Adobe's PDF files. These generally provide a promise of security. This means that you will be unable to cut and paste from these documents. You will be able to print with an assurance that the text has not been modified. The text will be identical regardless of your screen, fonts or printer. You will need, as a minimum, the Adobe Acrobat Reader plug-in, which can be downloaded free-of-charge.
  4. Rich-text format (RTF). This is a cross-platform format for word-processors. It is used from time to time for texts that will be modified by the users. RTF files cannot carry viruses. They share the same dependency upon your screen, fonts and printer as HTML documents.
