Every Part of Creation Matters: New CEC publication

Caring for God’s creation is an integral part of the calling of the churches. How can this be done? The question is explored in depth in the new publication titled Every Part of Creation Matters published by the Conference of European Churches (CEC) in partnership with Globethics.net.

The publication is edited by CEC Study Secretary Peter Pavlovic, Kees Nieuwerth, Vice-President of the Council of Churches in the Netherlands and the European Ecumenical Peace Church Network, and Adrian Shaw of the Eco Congregation Scotland.

The publication summarises the work of the CEC Thematic Group on Economic and Ecological Justice and Sustainable Future. The group consists of theologians, experts in ecological and political science, as well as activists from churches across the continent.

The book offers a summary of studies and discussions among theologians from diverse churches. The first section underlies key aspects of several theological traditions. The second section features insights into the European Green Deal aiming to transform the EU into a modern, resource-efficient, and competitive economy with no net greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The text supports the main aim of the Green Deal, and raises concerns related to some of its principal parts.
