Montréal, Québec

Sunday, January 19 @ 16:00h • Ecumenical Service 2014 in Montréal • Has Christ been divided? (1 Co 1:13)

at Christ Church Cathedral, 635, rue Sainte-Catherine Ouest (map)

You are invited to join with brothers and sisters of various Montreal Churches in an ecumenical celebration of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2014. Let us come together in prayer and song to be a witness to our unity as followers of Christ, to encourage each other in our common discipleship and in the pursuit of ever closer relationships in the building of God's Kingdom of peace in love here in our city.

Theme: "Has Christ Been Divided?" (1 Co 1:13)

As Canadian Christians, we are mindful that we have not always been ready to rejoice in the gifts of God present in other Christian communities. Reading Paul’s text in an ecumenical spirit, we become more conscious of being invited to rejoice sincerely in how God has blessed other Christians and other peoples. Those who first brought the Christian faith to Canada were often dismissive of the gifts and insights of the indigenous peoples, and failed to see the blessings God bestowed through them. Come to this year's ecumenical service, and listen with the beat of the drum for what the Spirit is saying to us. Ask yourself and your community the question, “Has Christ Been Divided?”

This ecumenical service will be filmed by Radio-Canada and France 2 and broadcast in Canada and Europe.
